Is insurance Biblical
I often grapple whether to get insurance; or if to do so demonstrates a lack of faith. If something is not mentioned in the Word of God, then I must draw from the principles and teaching of the whole testimony of Scripture. After studying all applicable scriptural principles, I come to the conviction we are to take care of ourselves. We must plan ahead for the future. This speaks of saving for future needs such as clothes, college, and complications. Life insurance can be viewed from different perspectives; as a lack of faith, as a love of money, as prudent planning, wise stewardship God certainly advocates planning ahead. Hebrews 11:6 states that without faith, it is impossible to please Him. Nowhere in God’s Word are we promised “a rose garden” where every thing is hunky-dory; free from disasters and difficulties.
